JEFF KILBURG

Founder & CEO

Jeff Kilburg is the Founder & CEO of KKM Financial, a boutique Investment Advisory firm.  He personally has more than twenty years of market experience.  Mr. Kilburg started his career at the CBOE located in Chicago, IL.  At Mercury Trading, he was able to develop a solid foundation for the Equity options markets.  After spending time learning Equity options from Mercury Founder's Jon & Pete Najarian, he was offered an opportunity to walk across Van Buren street to the Bond option pits located at the CBOT.  Fortunately for him, he was able to work with Ritchie Capital Markets Group.  Joe Ritchie, the creator of the theoretical value of a Bond option, was the Founder of Ritchie Capital Markets.  His son, Thane, was the managing Director at the time and Mr. Kilburg had the ability to learn from a team of veteran traders in all of the various fixed income pits located on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).  Furthermore, Mr. Kilburg was introduced to the volatility associated with Fixed Income as most investors know it can be sensational.  This strong footing in the Fixed Income option world opened up the opportunity for him to gravitate towards the Bond Futures pits.  He subsequently became a team member and an assistant Broker in the 30 Year Futures pit with the specialist group, JLS Group.  As the 30 year Bond pit was the largest and most liquid Bond contract back in the 1990’s, it was a tremendous opportunity and became the starting point for his knowledge in Futures.    After time well spent with the JLS Group, Mr. Kilburg decided to launch a Floor operation of his own.  In 1999, Mr. Kilburg began his floor operation in the 30 year Bond Future pit.  After the benchmark was switched from the 30 year Bond to the 10 year Note in the early 2000’s, he transitioned into the 10 Year Note pit and became one of the larger market makers in the 10 year note pit.  Having the ability to trade the entire curve via the various available spreads, Mr. Kilburg was afforded the opportunity to obtain vast experience in understanding risk management.  Understanding of the U.S. Treasury Curve has proven applicable into various Futures markets and assists Mr. Kilburg in distinguishing himself from his peers.  Risk management has proven to be a critical skill as Mr. Kilburg transitioned his Floor operations into a Registered Investment Advisory firm, KKM Financial, LLC in 2012.  KKM Financial is a SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm that focuses on the alternative investment space.  Also in 2012, Mr. Kilburg garnered acknowledgement from CNBC, by calling for the 10 year note to fall to historic lows under the 1.5% level.  Since then, Mr. Kilburg has engaged in an exclusive contract as a CNBC Contributor and is regularly on-air sharing insight on the markets and currently a member of the Futures Now team. In addition, he is regularly featured in the news and speaks at a variety of conferences globally.  Additionally, he is a four-year football scholarship student-athlete (under Lou Holtz) and a graduate from the Mendoza College of Business at The University of Notre Dame.
